Hand crafted books made with traditional methods and materials in rural England

Our story

Founded in 2024 in the depths of East Anglia, Aulwynd Bindery exists to keep the ancient techniques of English bookbinding alive and make them available to any book lover at any budget scale.

As a lifelong collector of rare, fine and antiquarian books I started training in bookbinding to learn to design and maintain the books I was passionate about. I wanted to bridge the gap between the traditional, established bookbinders of the highest quality and the collectors who wanted but could not afford to use them.

Aulwynd Bindery is the product of years of training to be able to offer off the shelf books of the highest quality and bespoke bindings and rebindings that are available to all collectors, whatever their budget.

“Working with Aulwynd Bindery was ideal for me. I was able to get antiquarian books I inherited back into readable condition and design my own binding for a favourite novel all for a price I could actually afford.”
